Covering a source that drops out with an alternative that meets the same specification.
If a producer announces a production stop, we look for an alternative source and compare it with your specification. We have samples tested and only switch when the results are within that specification. How quickly that works differs per substance and per producer, so we only name a lead time once we have looked into it for your product.
